竹山县南山五福堂高级中学位于湖北省竹山县潘口乡鱼岭工业园内,离主城区约6公里。新的校园选址基于高中部需要与原外国语学校小初部分离,同时能够获得更为充裕的教学场地。鱼岭工业园是现有县域规划范围内,唯一的相对平坦又具有完善市政基础设施的场地。

Nanshan Wufutang High School in Zhushan County is located in Yuling Industrial Park, Pankou Township, Zhushan County, Hubei Province, about 6 kilometers away from the main urban area. The new campus site selection is based on the need for the high school department to separate from the original foreign language school's primary and junior high school sections, while also obtaining more abundant teaching space. Yuling Industrial Park is the only relatively flat site with complete municipal infrastructure within the existing county planning scope.

 

可以理解又既成事实的是,义务教育以外的高中教育,在高考改革之前,是无法回避其教育的功利性与工业感的,它的寄宿制特征也同时影响了教学场地的选择,即可以相对封闭同时远离社区,特别在县域城市环境下。

It is understandable and a fact that, before the reform of the college entrance examination, high school education beyond compulsory education could not avoid the utilitarian and industrial feel of its education. Its boarding system also affects the choice of teaching venues, which can be relatively closed and far away from the community, especially in the context of county-level cities.

整个园区三面环山,路网已形成,与南北轴网偏转约45度,通过两条隧道与外部路网连接。园区内已有一所民办学校,其余用地大部分均为轻生产类的工业厂房。用地位于园区东南,场地内部西北方向较东南方向低约12米。项目总用地约为86916.45平方米。计划2000个学位,总配建面积为66205.88平方米。容积率为0.76。

The entire park is surrounded by mountains on three sides, with a road network already formed, which is offset by about 45 degrees from the north-south axis network, and connected to the external road network through two tunnels. There is already a private school in the park, and the majority of the remaining land is used for light production industrial plants. The land is located in the southeast of the park, and the northwest of the site is about 12 meters lower than the southeast. The total land area of the project is about 86,916.45 square meters. 2,000 degrees are planned, with a total construction area of 66,205.88 square meters. The plot ratio is 0.76.

新的校园除了教学功能外,学生宿舍、教师宿舍和陪读公寓也应一并俱全。作为民办高中,业主还希望可以提供更多体育活动的场所,便于体育方向特长生的学习和训练。根据以往的办学经验,提供更多的合班教室、便捷的取水场所、高效的课间转换路径,亦是教学生活的重要一环。

Besides teaching functions, the new campus should also have student dormitories, teacher dormitories, and chaperones’ apartments. As a private high school, the owner also hopes to provide more sports venues for the learning and training of students with special talents in sports. According to previous school experience, providing more combined classrooms, convenient access to water, and efficient transition paths between classes are also important aspects of teaching life.

规划的设想是最大化教学场地,尽可能压低层数以便减少竖向交通,使建筑匍匐于场地之上。宽裕的场地可以让教学空间的布局更为舒展。所有的教学空间结合行政办公和剧场组成一个围合空间,带来一个共享大院和三个教学小院,并通过底层挑空和双面挑廊形成一个便捷的交通网络。主入口庭院承载一定的集会活动,并随着地形起伏连接不同的功能区。三个教学小院分处不同标高,中心院落有消防通过要求,东侧院落相对封闭,西侧则跟随地形形成不同标高的庭院景观。

The planning assumption is to maximize the teaching space, reduce the number of floors as much as possible to reduce vertical traffic, and make the building lie on the site. A spacious venue can make the layout of the teaching space more comfortable. All teaching spaces, combined with administrative offices and theaters, form a walled space, creating a shared courtyard and three small teaching courtyards. A convenient transportation network is formed through the bottom-level open space and double-sided cantilevered corridors. The main entrance courtyard hosts certain gatherings and activities, and connects different functional areas with the undulating terrain. The three teaching courtyards are located at different elevations, with the central courtyard having fire safety requirements. The eastern courtyard is relatively enclosed, while the western courtyard follows the terrain to form a courtyard landscape with varying elevations.

主要教学空间采用框架剪力墙结构,其目的是可以消解柱廊,形成简洁的横向节奏。内院和外部廊道通过梁的形式变化加以区分:内院通过变截面挑梁和边梁,紧凑组织综合管线,并隐藏其内,形成干净的天棚界面;外部挑廊由于不需要布置设备管线,可以取消边梁,通过均匀的挑梁分布,形成独特的秩序感。

The main teaching space adopts a frame-shear wall structure, which aims to dissolve the colonnade and form a clean horizontal rhythm. The inner courtyard and the external corridor are distinguished by the change in the form of the beams: the internal courtyard is compactly organized with integrated pipework hidden inside, forming a clean ceiling interface through variable cross-section cantilever beams and side beams; Since there is no need to arrange equipment pipelines in the external cantilevered corridor, the side beams can be eliminated, and a unique sense of order can be created through the even distribution of cantilever beams.

以质感涂料作为主要材料,是为回应经济性要素。入口的钢构大跨,则旨在创建一种区别于日常教学尺度的“异质”结构,是对具有明显“工业性”场地属性的一种回应,或者体现某种“未来”,在县域平常环境里的特殊感。立面洞口和色彩组织,则是为在高效的秩序里获得身体(行动和视觉)的喘息。

Using texture paint as the main material is a response to economic factors. The large-span steel structure at the entrance aims to create a "heterogeneous" structure that is different from the daily pedagogical scale,  a response to the obvious "industrial" nature of the site, or a sense of certain "future", or a special feeling in the ordinary environment of the county. The facade openings and color organization are designed to provide physical (action and visual) respite in an efficient order.

较为不同是,风雨操场作为一个独立物,提供了大量的半室外运动场所。它处在400米跑道与教学综合楼之间,也处在“建筑”与“场所”之间。根据不同运动类型场地的尺度,其可以变化设置不同球类场景,提供一种变化或者多元的厂房式“大空间”。由张弦梁为主要大跨支撑结构、阳光板作为3米上方的维护结构,以及金属屋面构成的体育长廊,成为高中生们课后的主要聚集地。

The difference is that the stormproof playground, as an independent object, provides a large number of semi-outdoor sports venues. It is located between the 400-meter runway and the teaching complex building, and also between "building" and "place". According to the scale of different sports venues, different ball game scenes can be set up, providing a varied or diverse "large space" like a plant. The sports corridor, which is composed of a beam string structure as the main long-span supporting structure, a sunshine panel as the maintenance structure above 3 meters, and a metal roof, has become the main gathering place for high school students after class.

整个校园的设计构想旨在创建一幅工业区内的非日常校园图景。连续的“水平巨构”契合了园区的尺度,暴露的结构则取代了刻意的如画装饰。这种工业的、功能性以及经济实用性的尝试,是试图探讨当下教育建筑的另外一种可能。

The design concept of the entire campus aims to create a non-everyday campus landscape within an industrial area. The continuous "horizontal megastructure" fits the scale of the park, and the exposed structure replaces the deliberate picturesque decoration. This attempt at industrial, functional, and economically practical design seeks to explore another possibility for contemporary educational architecture.
